Daily Favorites in 2011

Okay, I lead a pretty average life. I was just talking with my husband last night about exactly how average we are. Married, house, jobs, 2.5 children. I know I am not alone though because lots of people have an average life. I am happy about average because it means I'm not below average.

After seeing several news stories this morning about New Year's Resolutions, I decided it might be fun to post a daily favorite thing for each day this year. This is not a resolution because I know I probably won't keep it up. It will probably only last 3 days until I realize that I'm too busy with my 4 year old and toddler to keep it up. Oh, well. At least the thought is keeping me busy today.

Desk is now Clutter-Free!

The desk has now been cleared and is back to its pristine self. Well, other than the 2 leftover McDonald's cookies sitting on it from lunch today. I really wasn't expecting them to be any good, but by golly, they were great! So great in fact, I saved some for tomorrow.

Thought about actually eating an apple today, but as you read above, I ate a hot fudge sundae instead...and a chocolate chip cookie. Bad-Bad! I did work out for a half hour a couple nights ago on the elliptical and bike though. That's the most working out I've done in years! My high metabolism is going to catch up with me in a couple years!

Brain Exercises

Does anyone else feel like their head is always thinking so much that they are too exhausted to actually physically work out? I wonder if I'm the only one doing brain exercises! It's the curse of the typical type A... We are often known as the "worry warts" who rarely take a risk. Okay, it's true! Perhaps actually working out would help me relax...I know, imagine that concept. The sports medicine and recreation specialists out there are rolling their eyes right about now! Does following a toddler and trying to keep a toddler occupied count as exercise? If so, I should be Denise Austin by now...

Confession of a Chronic "clean desk" Person

When you're the one in the office with the cleanest desk (which often earns you at least one comment from colleagues per day), it's a bit embarrasing when you don't live up to that reputation!

I will admit that right now there are about 10 plastic grocery bags full of random items from a recent event we had. They have been there about 2 days now and I've been to0 busy to put them away!! They are driving me crazy, so that must be my first task for tomorrow.
